Position Overview:
The Manager - Billing oversees end-to-end billing operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing across domestic and international shipments. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies, maintain billing master data, and strengthen process controls. It also drives automation initiatives and supports timely preparation of billing and receivable reports.

Job Purpose:
To manage, streamline, and optimize billing processes with high accuracy and regulatory compliance. The role ensures proper reconciliation of revenue and costs, supports audits, and contributes to stronger financial controls and improved process efficiency across the billing function.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Billing Operations

• Oversee end-to-end billing for Domestic, International, and Trinity shipments.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant invoice generation as per contracts, GST norms, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain customer billing profiles and master data with regular updates to reflect contractual changes.
• Validate freight charges, value-added services, surcharges, discounts, and duty taxes before billing.

Reconciliation & Controls

• Perform international cost reconciliation with revenue and ensure timely closure of gaps.
• Ensure accurate processing of inbound international files and completeness of data.
• Monitor billing cycles and ensure correct integration with financial systems.
• Drive internal controls and ensure compliance with IFC requirements.

Process Improvement & System Management

• Liaise with the System Development team to resolve billing-related issues and enhance platform capabilities.
• Lead automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Support annual rate revisions and ensure updates are accurately reflected in billing systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Pricing, Revenue, Operations, Sales, and Revenue Assurance teams to validate rates, resolve discrepancies, and identify revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors for IFC, statutory, and tax audits.

Reporting & MIS

• Prepare monthly billing provision files.
• Generate and share Billing & Receivable MIS reports with stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Provide insights to management to support decision-making and revenue optimization.

Qualifications & Experience:
Education:

• B. Com Graduate / Post-graduate in Finance / Accounting.

Experience:

• 7+ Years of experience in billing or finance operations.
• Strong knowledge of Billing software, SAP/ Navision ERP systems.
• Preferred knowledge of Logistic industry billing components.
