About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure ecosystem, Databricks, SQL, Python, Spark, and Scala, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to build data pipelines and architectures that enable advanced analytics and business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Spark.
  • Implement scalable data storage and processing solutions leveraging Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and SQL Database.
  • Write efficient code in Python and Scala to process large datasets and optimize data workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver high-quality data models.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices across all data platforms.
  • Monitor and optimize performance of data pipelines, troubleshooting issues proactively.
  • Stay updated with emerging data engineering tools, technologies, and best practices within the Azure ecosystem.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering with strong exposure to Azure Cloud Services.
  • Hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Synapse Analytics.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and Scala.
  • Proficiency in SQL — including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Deep understanding of Apache Spark for data processing and transformation.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git, Azure DevOps).
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL frameworks, and data architecture principles.

Good to Have

  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Power BI, or Delta Lake.
  • Knowledge of machine learning data preparation and data quality frameworks.
  • Azure certifications such as DP-203 (Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure) are a plus.
