Role & responsibilities
We are seeking a seasoned R&D leader to head all product platforms and drive QCD objectives of various projects under them. The incumbent will be responsible to drive scalability, efficiency and differentiation across product platforms. This role calls for balancing of customer value, cost competitiveness and future readiness and is central to achieving faster time to market and technology integration across portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Strategy & Roadmap
Define & own the long-term platform strategy, aligned with business growth & market requirements.
Ensure platforms are designed for scalability and modularity across power ranges, applications and geographies.
Cross product leverage & efficiency
- Drive commonization & standardization of modules, aggregates and systems across products.
- Balance backend efficiency with front-end product differentiation and customer relevance.
Technology integration & Future readiness
Embed emerging technologies into platforms.
Anticipate regulatory, sustainability, and market shifts to ensure platforms remain compliant and relevant.
Execution & Lifecycle management
- Oversee program delivery for new platforms and derivative products within cost, time & quality targets.
- Optimize platforms investments by balancing short-term market needs and long-term returns.
Collaboration & Leadership
Lead cross-functional alignment with R&D, manufacturing, sourcing and marketing for platform success.
- Establish clear governance structures to manage platform evolution and prevent duplication.
Mentor & develop teams to strengthen systems thinking and platform engineering capabilities.
Stakeholder Management
Liaise with external/internal technology partners, suppliers for co-development.
Preferred candidate profile
B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Engineering /Technology, MBA preferred.
20+ years in R&D, with at least 12-16 years in Project management and platform strategy
