Respirit Healthcare is a DPIIT-recognized health-tech startup building India's first integrated respiratory care ecosystem. Our flagship product, the Respirit Smart Respiratory Device, combines portable spirometry with AI-driven analytics for early detection and monitoring of lung diseases. We are incubated at IIT Guwahati, IISER Pune, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, NSRCEL IIM Bangalore, and STPI Guwahati.

Role Overview

We are hiring an Algorithm / AI Engineer to join our core device development team. This is not a side project—it is a deeptech medical device mission that demands serious commitment and long-term vision. You will be working on critical algorithms that directly impact patients' lives, alongside pulmonologists, engineers, and clinical researchers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine algorithms for spirometry curve correction (flow-volume, volume-time).
  • Implement error detection and signal filtering for real-world data.
  • Build predictive AI/ML models for early diagnosis and progression tracking of COPD, asthma, and related conditions.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to validate algorithm outputs against gold-standard devices.
  • Support integration of algorithms into mobile and cloud platforms for real-time use.
  • Document processes in line with medical device software standards (IEC 62304, ISO

Qualifications

  • B.Tech/M.Tech/PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong experience in Python (NumPy, SciPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Hands-on knowledge of signal processing and time-series data analysis.
  • Understanding of respiratory physiology and spirometry parameters (FEV1, FVC, PEF, FEV1/FVC ratio) preferred.
  • Prior work in healthcare AI/biomedical data will be a strong advantage.
