Key Responsibilities

  6. Material Selection

  7. Choose appropriate fabrics and materials based on design requirements and functionality.

  8. Source sustainable or innovative materials when needed.

  9. Technical Skills

  10. Use design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or CAD (Computer-Aided Design) to create digital designs.

  11. Understand textile production processes, including weaving, knitting, printing, and dyeing.

  12. Create technical specifications for manufacturers.

  13. Collaboration

  14. Work closely with fashion designers, product developers, and manufacturers to ensure designs align with the overall vision.

  15. Collaborate with marketing teams to understand target audiences and market trends.

  16. Prototyping and Sampling

  17. Develop prototypes and samples to test designs.

  18. Make adjustments based on feedback and production feasibility.

  19. Quality Control

  20. Ensure that the final textiles meet quality standards and design specifications.

  21. Address any issues during production.

  22. Sustainability and Innovation

  23. Explore eco-friendly materials and sustainable production methods.

  24. Stay updated on new technologies and innovations in textile design.

Skills and Qualifications

  2. Strong sense of color, pattern, and texture.

  3. Ability to translate ideas into visually appealing designs.

  4. Technical Knowledge

  5. Proficiency in textile design software (e.g., Adobe Suite, CAD).

  6. Understanding of fabric properties, weaving, knitting, and printing techniques.

  8. Precision in creating designs and ensuring quality.
