As we continue to expand, we seek a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to manage and streamline our statutory compliance processes with accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.

Role Summary

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for the complete spectrum of statutory compliance activities including TDS, GST, PF, ESI, PT, LWF, and other applicable laws. The role includes ensuring timely filing, payment, accounting, and reconciliation of statutory dues, along with managing E-invoicing and E-way Bill compliances under GST, wherever applicable. The position also involves detailed reconciliation of GSTR-2B vs Books, ITC vs ECL, TDS reconciliation, and management of unutilized challans. Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Statutory Compliance Management
  • Ensure timely and accurate calculation, accounting, payment, and filing of:
    • GST Returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR 9 etc.)
    • TDS Returns
    • PF, ESI, PT, and LWF contributions
  • Maintain a statutory compliance calendar and ensure strict adherence to due dates.
  • Prepare and maintain all statutory records, challans, and supporting documents.
  • Liaise with consultants, auditors, and statutory authorities to resolve queries or notices.

  • GST E-invoicing & E-way Bill Compliance

  • Generate, validate, and manage E-invoices as per GSTN guidelines.
  • Ensure proper generation and reconciliation of E-way Bills for applicable transactions.
  • Verify accuracy of E-invoice data with accounting books and GST returns.
  • Monitor compliance thresholds and ensure readiness for any system or rule updates under GST.

  • Reconciliation Activities

  • Perform GSTR-2B vs Books reconciliation monthly to ensure correct ITC claims.
  • Conduct ITC reconciliation between Books and Electronic Credit Ledger (ECL).
  • Carry out TDS reconciliation between Books, Form 26Q/26AS, and payment records.
  • Track and adjust unutilized challans to prevent fund blockage.
  • Highlight and resolve discrepancies through timely coordination with vendors or departments.

  • Accounting of Statutory Compliances

  • Record and reconcile all statutory payments (GST, TDS, PF, ESI, PT, LWF) accurately in the books of accounts.
  • Ensure that liability ledgers match with statutory returns and reconciliations.
  • Provide monthly summaries of statutory transactions and outstanding liabilities to management.
  • Support audit teams with required ledger extracts and accounting evidence.

  • Audit & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly compliance status reports for management.
  • Support internal and statutory audits by providing all compliance records and reconciliations.
  • Ensure audit readiness and up-to-date documentation for all statutory matters.

  • Accounting Support (Added Advantage)

  • Assist the finance team in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) related tasks.
  • Support vendor and customer reconciliations involving GST/TDS implications.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in statutory compliance and accounting.
  • Hands-on experience in reconciliation and GST E-invoicing will be preferred.
  • Exposure to AR and AP functions is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
  • In-depth knowledge of TDS, GST, PF, ESI, PT, LWF, and related compliance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of E-invoicing and E-way Bill processes.
  • Expertise in reconciliation activities (GSTR-2B, ITC, ECL, TDS).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally, Zoho Books, or other ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities.
