What You'll Do

  • Analyze and improve backend infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Design, build, and maintain APIs and backend logic using , PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS services (Lambda, EC2, ECS, Fargate, Docker).
  • Debug production-level bugs and collaborate with support to resolve issues quickly.
  • Review, maintain, and refactor legacy codebases with a focus on testability and maintainability.
  • Contribute to code quality through thorough Pull Request reviews.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless client-server interaction.
  • Partner with product and design teams to scope features and deliver business outcomes.
  • Document workflows, processes, and engineering best practices.

  • You help drive team velocity by unblocking others and reducing tech debt.

Youll Excel If You Have

  • 5+ years of backend development experience, preferably in high-scale environments.
  • Proven experience managing systems with 5M+ daily requests.
  • Strong hands-on experience in , JavaScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS (Lambda, EC2, ECS, Fargate, Docker).
  • Advanced understanding of RESTful API design, asynchronous systems, and DB performance tuning.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience with GraphQL and scalable schema design.
  • Strong communication skillswritten and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently in remote, async environments.
  • Willingness to work overlapping hours with US-based teams and customers.
  • Startup experience with a bias for speed, ownership, and iteration.
  • Interest in creating backend systems that support excellent user experiences.

(Bonus) Exposure to frontend technologies, especially or modern JavaScript frameworks.
