Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting

Position Description The Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting, is amember of a team of accounting professionals that consolidates and reports onover 40 domestic and international locations located in the U.S., Europe,Africa, Asia and Latin America.   TheFinancial Reporting group is responsible for analyzing the financial results ofindividual reporting locations as well as reporting the consolidated financialresults to management on a monthly basis.   The individual must possess strong analytical skills, enjoy achallenging work environment and the opportunity to exercise initiative andproblem -solve, as well as work well with all levels of the organizationRequirementsEssential Duties andResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Manager,Financial Reporting, performs the following key services to internal clients:·       Responsible for timely andaccurate month -end and year -end general ledger closing cycles for domestic andforeign offices in connection with the corporate consolidation and reporting·       Analysis of operating results,explaining and reporting variances·       Effective communication ofinformation between UA locations, HQ Finance teams (Treasury, FP&A,Billing, Accounts Payables, Revenue Accounting, Tax) and various other supportareas (Legal, HR, IT, etc.)Financial Reporting 1. Review monthly financialstatements submitted by assigned locations for compliance with U.S. GAAP aswell as internal policies and procedures2.  Prepare any necessary journalentries to conform location financials with U.S. GAAP such as recordinggoodwill.3.  Calculate and recordnon -controlling interest, if applicable to the entity4.   Reconcile intercompany accountsbetween assigned locations and HQ to include the processing complexinter -company  transactions and foreign exchange gains and losses5.   Translate and consolidateassigned entities6.    Reconciliation of assigned HQbalance sheets accounts7.    Prepare/compile reportingpackages from assigned entities in prescribed format. 8.    Provide support and schedulesfor the annual auditFinancial Analysis and Research 1.  Perform analysis of financialinformation and report on unusual variances2.  Research reconciling items,coordinating with foreign locations and HQ departments as needed3.  Provide information andschedules to various departments and foreign offices4.   Participate in specialprojects, as neededMandatory Qualificationsand RequirementsEducation/Experience·       Bachelor's degree inAccounting.  CPA or similar certificationis a plus but not required.·       6 -10 years of related workexperience·       Prior experience withconsolidation of multiple entities and reconciliation of complex accounts. ·       International experience aplus, particularly knowledge of foreign exchange accounting guidanceAttributes·       Ability to read, comprehend andfollow complex instructions in order to perform duties described above. ·       Excellent analytical problemsolving and organizational skills·       Proactive team player with apositive attitude and attention to detail who enjoys interfacing withinternational locations as well as internal departments. ·       Collaborative and consultativeinterpersonal work style; Self -Confident; Professional; Effective Communicator;Organized; Detail -oriented; Self -motivated.·       Ability to flourish in a fastpaced matrix organization working closely with other departments·       Willingness to embrace change.Skills·       Advanced MS Excel skills·       Proficient in MSWord, Powerpoint.·       Knowledge of NetSuite, OneStream/HFM,Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus.Success Measures·       Delivery of timely and accuratefinancial reports·       Meet all prescribed departmentdeadlines·       Compliance with relevantpolicies and procedures·       Effective and professionalworking relationships with client departments including foreign locations aswell as HQ.·       Identifying issues andcommunicating them to Supervisor, Financial Reporting in an effective andtimely manner.  ​
