We are seeking a skilled
Platform Engineer
to support the migration of workloads from
Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Integrated (TKGI)
to
Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP)
. This is a hands-on freelance/contract role requiring strong Kubernetes expertise, experience with cloud-native tooling, and deep knowledge of infrastructure automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute migration of Kubernetes workloads from
    TKGI to NKP
    .
  • Manage
    Nutanix AHV
    and
    Prism Central
    for infrastructure provisioning.
  • Design, deploy, and optimize Kubernetes clusters with
    CNCF components
    (MetalLB, Calico, Cilium, Dex, Kubecost, CSI/CNI plugins).
  • Automate infrastructure using
    Terraform, Ansible, Python, and PowerShell
    .
  • Implement
    Policy-as-Code
    frameworks using
    OPA/Gatekeeper
    and
    Kyverno
    .
  • Configure
    observability and logging
    with
    Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack
    .
  • Set up and manage
    GitOps workflows
    with
    Argo CD
    and
    Flux
    .
  • Integrate authentication/identity providers such as
    Dex, LDAP, and Okta (OIDC)
    .
  • Deploy and manage
    service mesh
    solutions (Istio, Linkerd) for workload communication and security.
  • Collaborate with teams to design scalable, secure, and cost-optimized platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience (design, deployment, and operations).
  • Experience migrating workloads between Kubernetes platforms (preferably TKGI → NKP).
  • Proficiency with Nutanix
    NKP, AHV, and Prism Central
    .
  • Solid understanding of
    CNI/CSI plugins
    and networking (Calico, Cilium, MetalLB).
  • Automation and IaC expertise with
    Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (Python/PowerShell)
    .
  • Experience with
    GitOps (Argo CD, Flux)
    and
    policy-as-code
    tools.
  • Knowledge of
    observability stacks
    (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Familiarity with
    service mesh frameworks
    (Istio, Linkerd).
