Job Summary:

The Crew Executive is responsible for managing and coordinating all crew-related activities for vessels, including recruitment, documentation, training, joining/leaving formalities, and compliance with maritime regulations. The role ensures that all crew operations are handled efficiently and in accordance with company policies and international maritime standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate crew changes, including joining and relieving crew members on vessels.

Maintain up-to-date crew records and ensure all documentation (certificates, medicals, visas, etc.) are valid and compliant with statutory requirements.

Liaise with manning agents, port agents, and travel agents to arrange crew logistics such as travel, accommodation, and visas.

Monitor crew performance, appraisals, and feedback reports.

Assist in the recruitment and selection of seafarers as per company standards.

Ensure compliance with MLC (Maritime Labour Convention) and flag state regulations.

Prepare crew wage accounts, contracts, and allotments in coordination with the accounts department.

Handle crew welfare matters, grievances, and communication between shore and vessel staff.

Support audits and inspections related to crewing activities.

Coordinate training programs, safety drills, and certification renewals for seafarers.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Marine Studies, Shipping Management, or a related field.

2–5 years of experience in crewing operations within the shipping or maritime industry.

Good understanding of STCW, MLC, and flag state requirements.

Strong coordination, communication, and organizational skills.

Proficient in MS Office and crewing management software.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple vessels/crew at a time.

Work Location:

Office-based with occasional travel to ports or training centers (if required).

Reports To:

Crewing Manager / Fleet Personnel Manager
