Purchase Officer OHE (Overhead Electrification) Electrical,

Specifically suited for companies working in Railway Electrification, Metro Projects, or Infrastructure (EPC) sectors in India.

Job Title: Purchase Officer OHE (Overhead Electrification) Electrical

Department: OHE Electrical

Reports To: Purchase OHE Head

Location: [Nehru Place, Delhi]

Job Summary:

The Purchase Officer OHE Electrical is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring all materials, components, and equipment related to Railway/Metro Overhead Electrification (OHE) projects. The role involves coordinating with project, engineering, and vendor teams to ensure timely availability of quality materials as per RDSO/railway standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Get Quotation from RDSO/ CORE approved vendors for OHE materials and equipment.
  • To obtain quotation from suppliers for raw material / store items of all the products of the company, and negotiate commercial terms with suppliers.
  • To prepare Purchase order and get them signed from the authorized signatory and obtain delivery of the products such as contact wire, catenary wire, insulators, fittings, clamps, brackets, cantilevers, SPS, and earthing materials as per approved specifications.
  • To obtain MRF/Verified Delivery Note from the factory/Site and process the bills of the party for timely payment and budget approvals.
  • To maintain Purchase order rate register along with Supplier / Contractor List for all major products. Coordinate with the project, design, and store teams to understand technical requirements and material timelines.
  • To make MIS of Purchase orders as per format desired by management. Co-ordination of Receipt of Raw Materials from Suppliers.
  • Visit vendor site for inspection of material before dispatch, Preparation of documents for RITES & Consignee inspection Support in vendor registration and approval processes with Indian Railways / RDSO as needed.
  • Reconciliation of Advances to Vendor with Accounts Status of Dispatch of Materials for each project Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with store teams for material reconciliation.
  • Assist in cost-saving initiatives and procurement strategy improvements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of Railway OHE materials, components, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with Indian Railway Standards, RDSO, and RE specifications.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Understanding of procurement procedures, contracts, and logistics.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Office, and documentation.
  • Analytical thinking and strong follow-up ability.
