Reports To: Assortment Lead
Role Summary
The Assortment Analyst supports the Assortment Lead by managing data, performing analytics, and executing assortment changes to ensure a customer-centric and efficient product portfolio. This role focuses on tracking SKU performance, maintaining accurate inventory data, and providing actionable insights through dashboards and reports. The Assortment Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing replenishment processes and ensuring alignment with business and competitive goals in a fast-paced quick commerce environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Performance Tracking: Monitor SKU-level performance metrics, including sales velocity, Out-of-Stock (OOS) percentage, and returns data, to optimize assortment.
● Data Management: Maintain and update assortment master data in ERP/WMS systems with zero errors.
● Replenishment Monitoring: Conduct daily checks on Minimum Base Quantity (MBQ) and replenishment processes to ensure ≥ 99% accuracy.
● Analytics & Reporting: Prepare and publish daily assortment dashboards for leadership, highlighting key metrics and trends.
● Competitor Analysis: Identify gaps in assortment compared to competitors and provide actionable recommendations.
● SKU Rationalization: Analyze and recommend slow-moving or non-moving SKUs for rationalization to improve inventory efficiency.
● New SKU Onboarding: Support the onboarding of new SKUs by coordinating content setup and system integration.
● Returns Analysis: Monitor returns data to identify patterns and recommend assortment adjustments.
● Catalog Coordination: Collaborate with the content team to ensure catalog readiness and alignment with assortment strategy.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
● Data Accuracy: Achieve zero errors in assortment master data maintenance.
● Replenishment Accuracy: Ensure daily replenishment accuracy of ≥ 99%.
● Dashboard Delivery: Publish accurate and timely assortment dashboards daily.
Skills & Competencies
● Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and PowerBI for data analysis and visualization.
● Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
● Strong understanding of FMCG products and quick commerce dynamics.
● Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
● Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Experience & Education
● Experience: 2–4 years in merchandising, inventory analytics, or data analysis, preferably in FMCG or e-commerce.
● Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
Work Environment
● Fast-paced quick commerce environment requiring agility and precision.
● Close collaboration with the Assortment Lead, content team, and operations teams.
