Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on expertise in MongoDB, MariaDB, and/or Oracle in production environments. The ideal candidate will also bring robust skills in Linux system administration, scripting (Perl, Python, Shell), and a strong grasp of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.

This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, backup, and recovery across multiple database systems, as well as deep troubleshooting and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain MongoDB (production), MariaDB, and/or Oracle databases.
  • Perform backup and recovery operations, using native and third-party tools.
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and monitoring.
  • Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and automated maintenance tasks.
  • Manage Linux servers used for database hosting; troubleshoot OS and networking issues affecting DB performance.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, Perl, or Python.
  • Work closely with application developers and DevOps teams to ensure DB reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Perform regular health checks, capacity planning, and participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning.
  • Maintain documentation and knowledge base for database systems and maintenance procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB in production environments.
  • Proficient in managing MariaDB and/or Oracle databases.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL (queries, stored procedures, performance tuning).
  • Experience with NoSQL concepts and managing distributed data.
  • Strong background in Linux administration and network troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Shell, Perl, or Python for automation.
  • Experience in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record in backup and recovery strategy implementation.
  • Ability to work in a high-availability, mission-critical environment.

Good to Have:

  • Exposure to or hands-on experience with Elasticsearch and/or Redis.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for database hosting and management.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Certifications in MongoDB, Oracle, or Linux administration are a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹90, ₹120,000.00 per month
