Job Title: Quality Engineer – heavy Steel Fabrication

Location: Banglore ,Harohalli

Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Reports To: Quality Manager / Plant Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control and assurance procedures specific to steel fabrication.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
  • Review fabrication drawings, welding procedures, and material certificates for conformity.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with production, welding, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain documentation for inspections, audits, calibration, and quality reports.
  • Participate in internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, client audits).
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics; identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Train shop floor personnel on quality standards and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations in all quality operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role, preferably in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of welding inspection, fabrication processes, and applicable standards (AWS D1.1, ASME, ISO 9001, etc.).
  • Familiarity with NDT methods (MT, UT, RT, PT) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in interpreting mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification such as CSWIP, CWI, or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18, ₹45,000.00 per month
