We are looking for an experienced
Buyer – Electrical
to manage procurement of electrical materials, systems, and equipment for large-scale infrastructure projects. The ideal professional will bring strong technical understanding, vendor management expertise, and proven sourcing experience within electrical, solar, and energy storage domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle end-to-end procurement of electrical equipment, components, and services for infrastructure projects.
  • Identify and qualify suppliers for cables, switchgear, transformers, panels, inverters, batteries, and solar-related products.
  • Develop sourcing strategies focused on cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Lead RFQs, tender processes, and commercial negotiations to secure favorable terms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and consistency.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and drive corrective actions when needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors for deliveries, technical clarifications, and issue resolution.
  • Analyze price trends, market conditions, and cost factors impacting electrical materials.
  • Prepare cost comparisons, justification reports, and negotiation summaries.
  • Support contract drafting, review, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Work closely with engineering, project management, planning, and site teams to align procurement with project needs.
  • Ensure all materials meet required standards, specifications, and statutory norms.
  • Track procurement schedules and proactively address risks to project timelines.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, PO documentation, vendor approvals, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement SOPs, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in electrical procurement within infrastructure, EPC, construction, utility, or related sectors.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in solar, ESS, or battery procurement.
  • Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and vendor management abilities.
  • Solid understanding of electrical equipment specifications and systems.
  • Proficiency in ERP tools (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics).
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple procurement packages.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with renewable energy products such as PV modules, inverters, BESS, and BoS components.
  • Experience with international suppliers and import processes.
  • Understanding of contract management frameworks, including FIDIC-based environments.
