  1. In-Depth Knowledge of Oracle Database/DG/RAC

  2. Oracle Database: Strong understanding of Oracle's architecture, including memory structures (SGA, PGA), background processes, and table storage mechanisms.

  3. Data Guard (DG): Involves creating and maintaining disaster recovery solutions. Candidate should know how to configure primary and standby databases, manage redo log transport services, and handle role transitions (switchover, failover).
  4. Real Application Clusters (RAC): Knowledge of configuring Oracle RAC for high availability. Should be able to manage clusterware, interconnects, and shared storage to ensure database uptime and scalability.

  5. Implementation of Oracle Databases with DG and RAC

  7. RAC Implementation: Deploying Oracle RAC with shared storage, configuring the Oracle Clusterware, setting up database instances across nodes, and ensuring high availability.

  9. RMAN (Recovery Manager): Ability to configure and manage RMAN backups (full, incremental, and archived logs). Understanding backup retention policies, the recovery process, and performing point-in-time recovery.

  10. EXPDP/IMPDP (Data Pump Export/Import): Knowledge of export/import utilities for logical backups and data migrations, including parameter tuning for large data sets, performing data transformations, and managing job logs.

  19. Expertise in migrating databases between similar OS environments (homogeneous) as well as different OS platforms (heterogeneous), including setting up appropriate data transport, character set conversions, and handling any OS-specific differences.

  20. Patching for Oracle Database/DG/RAC Environments

  21. Patch Management: Knowledge of patching Oracle Database, Data Guard, and RAC systems. This involves understanding patch levels, testing patches, applying patches using OPatch, and ensuring minimal downtime during patching operations.

  22. Upgradation of Database for SIFS, SIHA, and RAC Environments

  23. Upgradation: Ability to upgrade databases, including the use of Oracle tools like Database Upgrade Assistant (DBUA). This includes upgrades for features like SIFS (Single Instance File System), SIHA (Single Instance High Availability), and RAC environments to newer Oracle versions.

  24. Identification and Troubleshooting of Critical Errors

  25. A deep understanding of potential issues like performance degradation, connectivity problems, and Oracle errors (ORA-xxxx codes). Candidate should be able to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues related to database instances, RAC nodes, or DG standby.

  26. Planning and Implementing Database Migration, Patching, and Upgradation

  27. Involves creating strategies for database migration (both logical and physical), planning patch cycles, testing environments, and ensuring smooth upgrades. Documenting rollback plans and ensuring high availability during these operations is crucial.

  28. Knowledge of Database Level and Query Level Tuning

  29. Database Level Tuning: Optimizing database performance by adjusting memory structures (SGA, PGA), configuring database parameters, managing storage, and tuning background processes.

  30. Query Level Tuning: Ability to analyze and optimize SQL queries by reviewing execution plans, indexing strategies, and SQL performance analysis.

  31. Security Baseline Updates for Databases

  32. Regularly updating database security patches, managing user access and privileges, configuring auditing, and applying Oracle's security best practices to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access
