Principal Electrical & Electronics Engineer – Robotics (Urgent Opening)

Requirements

  • Stable Power Supply for High-Value Controllers: Design, implement, and procure robust, reliable, and safe power distribution systems for essential controllers, especially FPGA-based cards (each valued at ₹30+ Lacs).
  • Electrical Safety in Hazardous Environments: Engineer systems for Oil & Gas, Refineries, Offshore, and other critical environments, ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards (redundancy, isolation, surge protection, grounding).
  • Compliance & Standards: Experience with EMI/EMC, ISO/IEC safety compliance, and MIL-STD-grade designs for mission-critical systems.
  • Redundancy & Protection: Proven ability with UPS systems, dual power input design, and automatic backup switching for uninterrupted operation.

About the Role

We are looking for a Tech-driven Principal Engineer who can thrive in a fast-paced, rapid prototyping Early Stage Start-up.

Important Notes:

- Extended working hours: 6 days a week, with a demanding TAT (Turnaround Time).

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and supervise electrical & electronic systems for robotic platforms from concept to deployment, with focus on harsh/hazardous environments.
  • Lead the design of stable power supply systems (multi-level protections) for FPGA-based control cards and high-value electronics.
  • Develop modular architectures for ease of customization and payload integration.
  • Drive compliance with EMI/EMC, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, and safety standards across all systems.
  • Design & simulate PCB layouts (2–4 layers), embedded hardware, and interface electronics.
  • Apply signal processing & control techniques (PID, fuzzy logic, ML-enhanced signal processing) to optimize system performance.
  • Build, test, and validate modules using LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, OrCAD, KiCAD, and similar tools.
  • Collaborate with firmware, AI/ML, and mechanical teams for system-level integration.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, ensuring a knowledge-driven culture.

Day-to-Day Tasks

  • Hands-on hardware debugging, soldering, and embedded development.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain embedded hardware platforms (ARM Cortex, STM32, NVIDIA Jetson, ESP32, NRF52, etc.).
  • Run circuit simulations, design validation, and compliance testing.
  • Keep test benches, instruments, and lab setups operational.
  • Execute projects within tight turnaround deadlines.

Required Skills

  • PCB Design: KiCAD, OrCAD, EAGLE.
  • Embedded Systems: ARM Cortex A/M, STM32, ESP32, Jetson, Raspberry Pi.
  • Programming: Embedded C, Python, MATLAB, PyQt, C/C++.
  • Simulation & Modeling: MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW.
  • Strong soldering, circuit debugging, and prototyping ability.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area systems, power electronics, and MIL-STD designs.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech / M.S. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (NIT/IIT preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience in electronics for robotics/mission-critical systems.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end hardware development, from requirements to product release.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
