Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Manual Software Tester to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of web and mobile applications through systematic manual testing. This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates or earlycareer professionals to begin their career in software quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand software requirements and prepare detailed, comprehensive, and wellstructured test cases.
Execute manual test cases to identify bugs, errors, and inconsistencies.
Report defects clearly and track them to closure using issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
Perform functional, regression, usability, and exploratory testing on various platforms (web/mobile).
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to understand features and ensure test coverage.
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings (if Agile methodology is followed).
Review and provide feedback on requirements and design documents.
Prepare test summary reports and documentation for testing activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
0 to 2 years of experience in software testing (internships/projects also considered).
Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
Familiarity with different types of testing: Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and Exploratory.
Good understanding of defect lifecycle and test case management.
Knowledge of test case creation and execution.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Attention to detail and a passion for quality.
Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory):
Exposure to bug tracking tools like JIRA, Mantis, or Bugzilla.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Basic knowledge of databases and ability to write simple SQL queries.
Awareness of mobile testing and cross-browser testing.
