A high-availability, mission-critical payments environment delivering authorization, clearing and settlement services for banks, processors and merchants. This is an on-site engineering role in India supporting end-to-end TSYS payment systems and integrations.

About The Opportunity
We are hiring a hands-on TSYS Payments Developer to join an operations-focused engineering team responsible for development, integration, and production support of TSYS-based payment solutions. The role emphasizes building and maintaining payment switch components, ISO 8583 message flows, EMV-related processing, and reliable mainframe integrations to ensure uninterrupted transaction throughput.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and configure TSYS (TS2) components and host interfaces to support issuer/acquirer transaction flows and settlement processes.
• Implement and validate ISO 8583 message mappings, routing rules, and field transformations for POS, ATM, and gateway integrations.
• Support EMV and card-present/card-not-present transaction logic—authorization, reversal, capture, clearing, and chargeback handling.
• Develop and maintain mainframe artifacts (COBOL programs, JCL jobs, CICS transactions, DB2 objects) tied to payment processing.
• Provide 2nd/3rd-line production support: troubleshoot incidents, perform RCA, deploy hotfixes, and coordinate releases with operations teams.
• Create technical runbooks, integration test cases, and participate in change control and deployment activities for on-site environments.

Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have

• 3+ years experience with TSYS (TS2) platform or equivalent payment-switch platforms in production.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 8583 message formats and real-world experience mapping/transforming message fields.
• Hands-on mainframe development experience (COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2) or proven backend integration skills with payment hosts.

Preferred

• Experience with EMV transaction flows, kernel integration, and card scheme certification processes (Visa/Mastercard/Rupay).
• Familiarity with POS/ATM gateway integration, TCP/IP sockets, or middleware used in payment ecosystems.
• Prior exposure to incident management, on-call rotations, and release/change-management in high-volume payment environments.
