The DBA team is responsible for tasks such as project management, development of best practices and repeatable procedures for deploying databases, day-to-day operational activities including break/fix, capacity management, backup and recovery, database replication setup/management and ongoing database change reviews.

The team also builds and maintains large-scale and very high transactional DB2 databases on Linux platform. Technical Skills:RDBMS : IBM DB2 LUW 9.7,10.1,10.5 and V 11.x

Operating systems : IBM AIX, Linux & WindowsLanguages : Structured Query Language, UNIX Shell Basics Responsibilities: Experience in DB2 Installations, configurations, administration, and upgrade of the databases to higher versions in LUW environment. Hands on experience in DB2 Fix pack installation in standalone and HADR environments. Updating DB and DBM cfg parameters based on requirement.

Experience in performing online, offline, incremental and Delta backups to various environments like Disk, TSM, tape, tdp_r3. Checked the database backup image's integrity using db2ckbkp. Experience in configuring

High Availability Disaster Recovery solution. Experience in HADR DR-Drill Activity. Restoring PROD backup image in TSM/TAPE/Disk/tdp_r3 environments into same database and into DEV, Quality using redirected restore.

Experience in SQL tuning using db2advis and db2expln Tools. Experience in data movement utilities like Export, Import and Load. Database maintenance utilities like Reorgchk, Reorg, Runstats and Rebind.

Experience in trouble shooting database issues using db2diag, Snapshot, db2pd, and db2top, db2support, monreport. Experience in generating data definition language using db2look tool from existing databases and replicating the same objects in newly created databases. Daily update calls with the customer and always used to keep them in track with ongoing major activities or any issues.

Ensure integrity, availability, and performance of DB2 database systems by providing technical support and maintenance. Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency. Assist in capacity planning, space management and data maintenance activities for database system.

Perform database enhancement and modification as per the requirements. Perform database recovery and backup tasks on daily and weekly basis. Develop and maintain patches for database environments.

Identify and recommend database techniques to support business needs. Assist in implementation of new features and program fixes in databases. Maintain database security and disaster recovery procedures.

Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of multiple databases. Resolve any database issues in accurate and timely fashion. Monitor databases regularly to check for any errors such as existing locks and failed updates.

Oversee utilization of data and log files. Manage database logins and permissions for users. Good scripting ability and good working knowledge of Shell Scripts, Perl or Python.

Attending Daily status review calls. Providing 24*7 Support in the Project. Qualifications: Demonstrated experience with

Open Source/Linux development and production environments

Hands on experience with designing and implementing database replication strategies

Experience in designing and automating repetitive processes3-5 years plus working with DB2 technology. Certified DB2 is a plus

Possess creative ability, credibility, self-confidence, and independence

Good team player with strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills

Able to work under pressure and multi-task

Should be willing to work in cross skilled DB technologies.Strong AWS Background or another cloud skills would be an added advantage.
