Job Title: Farm Manager (Fruits & Vegetables)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Farm Manager to oversee the cultivation of multiple crops, with a strong focus on fruits and vegetables. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in modern farming practices, crop rotation, pest management, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest handling. You will be responsible for ensuring high yields, maintaining quality standards, and managing farm operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage the growing activities for multiple crops, especially fruits and vegetables.
- Develop and implement effective cultivation practices, crop schedules, and resource planning.
- Supervise farm workers, contractors, and seasonal laborers, ensuring best agricultural practices.
- Monitor soil health, water usage, fertilizers, and pest control measures to optimize crop yields.
- Maintain and operate farm equipment, ensuring timely maintenance and repairs.
- Manage budgets, farm records, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Stay updated with agricultural advancements and integrate new techniques to improve productivity.
- Ensure compliance with local agricultural laws, regulations, and food safety standards.
- Plan and oversee harvesting schedules, post-harvest handling, and quality control.
- Coordinate with marketing/sales teams to align production with demand forecasts.
- Lead sustainability initiatives and environmental management practices on the farm.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (5+ years preferred) managing farms with a focus on fruits and vegetables.
- Degree/Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of crop management, pest/disease control, irrigation systems, and soil health.
- Experience with farm machinery and tools.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under varying weather conditions and flexible work hours.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in organic or sustainable farming practices.
- Knowledge of post-harvest management and storage techniques.
- Familiarity with farm management software and precision agriculture technologies.
