Key Responsibilities:

  • Read a requirement/user story and instantly translate it into clear, logical test cases.
  • Prepare test plans and execute functional, regression, system, and UAT tests without handholding.
  • Write clean documentation (test cases, defect logs, reports) that any reviewer can understand in one read.
  • Identify defects accurately, reproduce them, and communicate with developers using JIRA/Azure.
  • Understand real business workflows, not just "click and check."

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong SDLC/STLC understanding.
  • Hands-on test case writing.
  • Experience with defect tracking tools.
  • Ability to test end-to-end flows, not isolated screens.
  • Clear English communication for requirement clarification and KT.

Preferred (filters out bluffing fast)

  • Experience with enterprise platforms (insurance, finance, telecom, or similar).
  • Knowledge of policy life cycles, product rules, or workflow-based systems.
  • Exposure to test management tools like TestRail, Zephyr, or QTest.

Not Looking For:

  • People who only did "UI testing" or "sanity testing."
  • People who cannot explain a defect they found with steps, expected behavior, and actual behavior.
  • People who rely on developers/PMs to explain every small detail.

Good to have :

Experience using AI-powered tools to enhance test design, test execution, and defect analysis.

Experience

  • 1–4 years in manual testing or QA.
