Senior Application Engineer, Zuora Billing

The Senior Application Engineer will play a key role in designing, configuring, and implementing Zuora Billing and Revenue solutions to optimize end-to-end financial and billing processes. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including finance, billing, and revenue operations, to drive automation, scalability, and efficiency across global operations. The position requires translating complex business requirements into technical solutions, conducting workshops, and developing prototypes for validation before full-scale development. You will ensure accurate integration of systems, monitor critical processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role provides significant impact across finance and billing functions while offering opportunities to lead projects and influence operational excellence. Accountabilities:

• Design, configure, develop, and test Zuora Billing and Revenue solutions supporting Billing, Accounts Receivable (AR), Cash Application, and Revenue processes.
• Conduct business workshops to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and translate them into effective Zuora solutions.
• Partner with process owners to define operational KPIs and deliver dashboards and reports using Zuora data queries.
• Create system prototypes and demos to validate solutions with stakeholders prior to development.
• Integrate Zuora with upstream usage systems and downstream accounting platforms such as Oracle Fusion, HighRadius, Salesforce, and others.
• Monitor production systems, proactively identify issues, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations (KTLO).
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to deliver projects on time, maintaining high standards for quality and process compliance.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Zuora Billing and Revenue modules, including product and customer master data management.
• Strong understanding of Billing and Revenue workflows, including usage mediation, taxation, and invoice presentment.
• Proven experience supporting the full implementation lifecycle—from requirements gathering to testing and deployment.
• Experience working with finance and accounting stakeholders in global organizations.
• Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies and change management principles.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; certifications in Zuora Billing and Revenue implementations are a plus.
