Job Title: Senior Product Engineer

Reporting To: Lead Product Engineer

Experience: 6–10 years

Location: Work From Office (WFO)

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

As a Senior Product Engineer, you will work as an individual contributor, collaborating

closely with the Product Owner to deliver high-quality, responsive web applications. You

will be responsible for designing and documenting technical solutions, performing design and

code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers. Your role will require strong problem-solving

capabilities, architectural thinking, and the ability to translate requirements into robust

product features.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and develop original algorithms, logic, and high-quality code that is reliable and test-resilient.
  • Understand the distinction between product engineering and turnkey project development, and adapt coding approaches accordingly.
  • Demonstrate strong abstraction and architectural skills to convert requirements into scalable product features.
  • Create innovative solutions and algorithms to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Prepare technical artefacts including design documents, code documentation, and review reports.
  • Conduct design and code reviews for team deliverables to ensure high engineering standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical growth and contributing to overall team capability.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • 5–8 years of hands-on experience developing web applications using Java / J2EE technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Practical experience building UI applications using React or Angular, as well as backend frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
  • Proficient in developing and consuming RESTful Web Services with JSON data formats.
  • Experience working with performance tuning, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing applications and queries.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices including CI/CD, static code analysis, etc.
  • Agile certification and/or experience in the Financial domain is an added advantage.
