Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute functional, regression, and user acceptance test cases for trading platforms or investment systems, ensuring complete process validation of order management, settlement, pricing, and reporting modules.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and product owners to clarify requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios, focusing on trading workflows and investment life cycles.
  • Identify, document, and track software bugs and inconsistencies using defect management tools; verify fixes and assess impacts on trading/investment functionality.
  • Utilize knowledge of trading instruments (such as equities, derivatives, and FX) or investment processes to design test cases for core platform features, pricing engines, and client order flows.
  • Automate functional test scripts using tools such as Selenium or JUnit where applicable, and perform manual testing for complex scenarios.
  • Analyze and validate trade events, execution reports, risk calculations, and compliance checks in partnership with quant/finance and tech teams.
  • Support end-to-end testing, integration testing, and participate in requirement review sessions to ensure testability.
  • Provide feedback for usability and enhancement, striving for continuous process improvements in agile investment/trading environments.
  • Maintain test plans, scripts, documentation, and provide clear reporting of test progress and results to stakeholders and QA management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in functional testing/QA, with exposure to trading or investment systems/platforms.
  • Understanding of capital markets, order/execution cycles, trading products, and financial regulations is required.
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing, bug tracking, and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM).
  • Familiarity with SQL for data validation; knowledge of APIs and messaging protocols (e.g., FIX, REST) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • ISTQB or similar QA/testing certification is an advantage.
