Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cable Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunication systems. This role requires a strong understanding of network installation and cabling techniques, as well as proficiency in fiber splicing and working with various telecommunication equipment. The technician will work in the field, ensuring that all installations meet industry standards and customer satisfaction.

Duties

  • Install and maintain fiber optic and copper cabling systems for networks.
  • Perform fiber splicing and ensure proper connectivity for optimal network performance.
  • Conduct network installations, including setting up Cisco routers and other networking equipment.
  • Utilize hand tools and testing equipment such as an ohmmeter to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Provide field service support, addressing customer inquiries and resolving technical issues on-site.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls.

Experience

  • Proven experience in cable installation or as a service technician in the cabling laying field.
  • Strong cabling knowledge with a focus on low voltage systems.
  • Familiarity with computer networking concepts and Ethernet technologies.
  • Experience working with telephony systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in various environments while demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.
