About the Business Unit :

System & Network Admin: IT service provider to all the business within Times internet.

Role Overview:

The WAF & CDN Engineer will be responsible for implementing, deploying, fine-tuning, and supporting Web Application Firewall and Content Delivery Network solutions. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, highly motivated professional with hands-on experience in WAF and CDN platforms, seeking an opportunity to work with a global leader in the media industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Web Application Firewall (WAF)

  • Configure, deploy, manage, and maintain cloud-native Web Application Firewall solutions.
  • Evaluate existing WAF policies, perform periodic analysis, and provide fine-tuning recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with application development teams on security-related projects.
  • Monitor and respond to WAF events, analyze alerts, and perform corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain WAF incident response processes.
  • Strong understanding of OWASP risks, vulnerabilities, and mitigation mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of cross-site scripting (XSS), CSRF, SQL injection, DoS/DDoS, API attacks, and related threats.

Content Delivery Network (CDN)

  • Manage end-to-end CDN configurations including additions, modifications, and creation of new configurations.
  • Handle CDN-related updates such as SAN updates and DNS modifications.
  • Perform CDN platform migrations and manage CDN net storage.
  • Analyze CDN traffic reports and optimize configurations for performance and reliability.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, and other web protocols.
  • Solid understanding of web applications, web servers, firewalls, and deployment frameworks.
  • Strong scripting/programming experience in Python and shell scripting.
  • Understanding of regular expressions.
  • Proficiency with Linux-based operating systems.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • Provides informal technical guidance, mentoring, and assistance to peers and support teams.
  • Ability to make decisions based on company policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Able to handle additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in application security, WAF management, CDN configurations, or a combination of both.
  • Proven experience working with Akamai and CloudFront.
  • Experience with NGINX+ is an added advantage.
