Job Description of Network Administrator at VGM
• Support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customers networks and in-house network and servers
• Install and integrate new server, switches, firewall related hardware and applications also checking for related updates like version of firmware, model etc.
• Ensure network security, connectivity and administering third-party applications
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
• Resolving problems reported by end user and setting up user accounts, permissions and passwords
• Define network policies and procedures and system usages and design solutions Skill set requirements:
• Proven experience in a network administrator role
• Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server & network infrastructure
• Experience with firewalls, Internet VPNs remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired along with IPSec Tunnel, VLAN creation.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Proficient in organising, prioritising and multitasking
• Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet, CWNA or BCNE training
• BSc degree in Computer Science or related field KRA: 1. Developing Strategy of a Secure Network: Developing and implementing a comprehensive Network security strategy aligned with the seamless operation as per the desired policy and regulatory requirements. 2. Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks towards data security and availing near to zero (0) downtime. This includes conducting regular risk & performance assessments and vulnerability analyses. 3. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, such as the Information Technology Act, 2000, and guidelines from regulatory bodies like the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). 4. Incident Response: Establishing and managing an incident response plan to address security breaches and cyber threats promptly. 5. Data Protection: Implementing measures to protect sensitive data, including customer information and financial records, from unauthorized access and breaches. 6. Vendor Management: Evaluating and managing third-party vendors to ensure they adhere to the agency's security policies and standards. 7. Technology Implementation: Overseeing the deployment of security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption solutions. 8. Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitoring security systems and generating reports on the agency's security posture for senior management. 9. Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as IT, legal, and compliance, to ensure a coordinated approach to information security. KPI: 1. Incident Response Time: AHT to detect, respond to, and mitigate any incidents. 2. Compliance Rate: The percentage of compliance with regulatory requirements and internal security policies. 3. Number of Security Incidents: The total number of network disruption, security breaches and incidents reported within a specific period. 4. Vulnerability Management: The number of vulnerabilities identified and remediated within a given timeframe. 5. Security Audit Results: The outcomes of internal and external security audits, including the number of findings and the time taken to address them. 6. User Access Management: Metrics related to the management of user access rights, such as the number of access reviews conducted, and the time taken to revoke access for terminated employees. centralized management of user accounts, authentication, and access control using Microsoft Active Directory.
