Role Description:

Ø Safety Engineer is responsible for Co-ordinating and assisting the Project Manager in working out the program in accordance with EHS Plan and reporting to corporate EHS head.

Ø To review the program periodically and discuss the result achieved.

Ø Conduct inspection periodically by using safety check list.

Ø Spot correction of all unsafe condition and unsafe acts at the site.

Ø Take suitable action to eliminate unsafe work in the site.

Ø Organize Daily Safety tool box talks through engineers and take Safety Pledge on Weekly basis.

Ø Organize safety induction training to all at site employees and workers.

Ø Organize safety committee meetings.

Ø Organize safety committee inspection.

Ø Maintain all incident records. Near Miss, First aid cases, Incidents and accidents.

Ø Investigate all accidents and recommend remedial measures to avoid such accident and Implementation of remedial measures.

Ø Discuss all accidents in the safety committee meeting.

Ø Display of safety slogans / posters in all conspicuous locations of the site.

Ø Organize safety promotional activities including Safety Day Celebrations.

Ø Plan the requirements of first aid, fire extinguishers and PPE and implement to all levels in site to ensure complete safety of all stakeholders.

Ø Organize safety induction and refresh job specific safety training to all employees, contract workers, contractors, supervisors and officials at all levels.

Ø Prepare monthly safety report and submit to Site In charge, Client (If required) and corporate EHS head.

Ø As per BOCW Act, arrange competent person for third party inspection of all lifting tools, tackles and vessels. Ensure availability of legal document to all vehicles.

Ø Organize HIV training program to all workers and employees through competent authority. Conducted promotional activity like National Safety Day and Environment Day.

Ø Ensure use of PPEs at site and maintained PPEs issue register of all employees, workers and visitors.

Ø EIA – Environment Impact assessment and EMP – Environment Management Plan to be prepared, followed and submitted to client.

Ø Maintain tree cutting and plantain register. Keep a Photo album for the same.

Ø Air, water and soil pollutions to be monitored and records to be submitted to client.

Ø PUC to be obtained to all vehicles and DG sets.

Ø To be ensured Qualified electrical engineer with B or C license.

Ø Labour license and insurance to be ensured to all site workers and staffs.

Ø To be ensured availability of Qualified first aider at site, Certificate to be recorded.

Ø To be Ensured, implemented and recorded Work Permit System.

Ø JSA- Job Safety Analysis to be Prepared and followed at site. All SOP to be followed.

Ø Organizing Mock Drill Quarterly, Observation sheet and photos to be recorded.

Ø Ensured Medical check-up to all employees and contract workmen.

Ø Organized monthly safety meeting with staffs and client, MOM to be recorded and circulated to all levels.

Ø To be resolves all health-related issues of workers and employees like labour colony cleanness and medical camp organized

Qualifications of Safety Officer / EHS officer:

Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Production, Chemical, Environment + 1 Year Diploma in Safety - Minimum 3 Years Experience.

Or

B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Production, Chemical, Environment + 1 Year Diploma in Safety or ME/M.Tech - Safety. - Minimum 2 Years Experience.

Or

M.E / M.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Production, Chemical, Environment + 1 Year Diploma in Safety - Minimum 2 Years Experience.

Or

B.Sc or M.Sc in Physics and Chemistry + 1 Year Diploma in Safety - Minimum 3 Years Experience

• Diploma in Industrial Safety from RLI & CLI
• B.E / B.Tech in Industrial Safety
• M.E / M.Tech in Industrial Safety
• ADIS - Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety from any university's.
• ADIS - Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety from any Technical Board of Education.
• ADIS - Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety from NICMAR.
• Safety Supervisor Qualification from DGFASLI.
• ADIS - Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety from BSS - Bharat Samaj Sevak.
• ADIS - Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety from MSME Technological Development Centre.
