The Purchase and Accounts Manager will be responsible for managing procurement activities, vendor management, and overall accounts/finance operations related to solar energy projects. The role requires expertise in purchase planning, cost optimization, contract management, accounting practices, and ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory norms. The candidate will work closely with the project, design, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply chain and financial control.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement & Purchase Management

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for solar equipment (modules, inverters, BOS, structures, cables, etc.) and services.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers/vendors ensuring quality, price competitiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and payment conditions with vendors.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials for rooftop, ground-mounted, and off-grid solar projects.
  • Monitor inventory levels, purchase orders, and logistics to avoid project delays.

Accounts & Finance Management

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, vendor payments, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and project-wise cost accounting.
  • Handle GST, General Accounting, and other statutory compliances related to procurement and vendor payments.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and MIS reports for management.
  • Support in audits, financial reporting, and cost analysis for solar projects.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Develop long-term vendor relationships and rate contracts for key solar components.
  • Ensure vendors meet quality standards, certifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Resolve disputes related to billing, payments, or contract obligations.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to align procurement with project timelines.
  • Coordinate with finance and management teams to ensure cash flow planning for vendor payments.
  • Support tendering, bid submissions, and cost estimations with accurate procurement inputs.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong knowledge of procurement and accounting processes in the renewable energy/solar sector.
  • Familiarity with solar equipment (modules, inverters, structures, cables, etc.) and vendors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Tally/ERP systems and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of General Accounting and other statutory compliances.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and cost control.
