Senior Architect – Cloud & Data Platform

• Purpose of the role

We are seeking a Senior Manager or Senior Architect with deep operational and technical expertise in database technologies including MongoDB, Sybase, DB2, Cosmos DB, and Databricks. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of Azure Cloud platforms, with knowledge of other providers considered a plus. Identity services experience is an added advantage. The role will focus on enhancing the design, resilience, scalability, and performance of our data and cloud infrastructure.

The Cloud Platform Team is critical in delivering high-quality IT solutions. Responsibilities includes:

• Leverage industry standards and best practices for cloud and database architecture.
• Create and evolve frameworks supporting cross-zone deployment and governance.
• Offer direct technical design and delivery for top-priority initiatives.
• Maintain a centralized repository for technical artifacts.
• Support alignment with enterprise standards across architecture, operations, and infrastructure.
• Prototype and validate new technologies for performance, scalability, and compliance.
• Standardize onboarding practices across cloud engineering functions.
• Key tasks & accountabilities
• Lead the design and optimization of database systems (e.g., MongoDB, Sybase, DB2, Cosmos, Databricks).
• Define and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Develop platform architecture leveraging Azure and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep).
• Improve automation for provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and patching data and platform resources.
• Ensure compliance, security, and access control mechanisms in all database and cloud environments.
• Actively monitor system performance, troubleshoot, and lead root cause analysis.
• Mentor and guide team members across database reliability engineering and cloud solutioning.
• Influence strategic decisions and roadmap planning with a data- and security-first mindset.

BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

• Collaboration with Global Design Lab and delivery centers in India, Brazil, and Mexico.
• Operate in a rapidly evolving multi-cultural, multi-zone business environment.
• Engage with stakeholders across enterprise architecture, engineering, and product teams.
• Lead technical standards with visibility into global deployment strategies and risk management.
• Qualifications & Experience
• Academic Degree – BE/BTech, MCA, or M.Sc. in IT-related fields.
• 12–18 years overall experience, including 5 years of experience managing Tech Leads and overseeing teams of 10+ engineers
• Senior Architects must bring 5–8 years of hands-on solutioning experience working closely with cloud and database operations teams.

Skills required:

• Strong DevOps and scripting (Java, Python, Shell, DSL, YAML).
• Operational mastery in databases and data platforms including Databricks and Cosmos.
• Hands-on with Azure cloud and ideally familiar with AWS/GCP.
• Experience managing DR/HA, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure scaling.
• Leadership in agile environments with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Jenkins, and API platforms (REST/SOAP).
• Solid understanding of ITIL, TOGAF, and cloud-native principles.
