Our Analytics Team is integral to the development and maintenance of robust data pipelines, semantic layers, and data applications. This team is responsible for constructing and refining data pipelines that ensure the efficient flow and transformation of data across the organization. By focusing on building and optimizing semantic layers, the team enhances data accessibility and usability, enabling more insightful and accurate analytics.

The team also plays a crucial role in developing data applications that leverage these pipelines and semantic layers, providing powerful tools for data analysis and decision-making. With a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, the Analytics Team is dedicated to delivering scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions that meet the evolving data needs of the organization.

What you'll do and need to know:

• Experience in coding in Java, object-oriented, and modularized software.
• Demonstrated success in completing complex projects.
• Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies quickly.
• Skills in Spark, Trino, and Semantic Layer from Tableau and Power BI.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• 10 years of experience with Java or similar OO language.
• Lakehouse, Iceberg, delta tables, hudi, data pipelines, declarative pipelines, Spark, Flink, Big data, Semantic model, Data modeling, Star schemas, Snowflake, OLAP, Data cloud, Data fabric.
• Expert level understanding of best practices for object-oriented and modularized software, with an emphasis on Java.
• Experience with relational databases: Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, and/or PostgreSQL, Snowflake or Databricks.
• Strong understanding of SQL and query development.
• Familiarity with Unix shell.

Nice to have:

• Expertise in writing Java code and working knowledge of JavaScript. Experience in other OO languages will be considered.
• Expertise in unit and integration test automation.
• Deep database internals knowledge.
• Technical leadership skills (requirements gathering, mentoring, project ownership).
• Understanding of monolithic Java applications.
