Job Description:

A Senior Engineer (Coal Mining) is a technical professional responsible for managing and optimizing coal mining operations. Their job duties typically include planning, design, and execution of mining projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, and overseeing the safety and efficiency of mining operations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Design:
    Developing mine plans, layouts, and schedules, including drilling, blasting, and haulage processes. 


  • Execution and Supervision:
    Overseeing the execution of mining operations, including drilling, blasting, and extraction of coal. 


  • Safety Management:
    Implementing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees. 


  • Equipment Maintenance:
    Overseeing the maintenance and repair of mining equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. 


  • Compliance:
    Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, including environmental and safety regulations. 


  • Problem Solving:
    Addressing technical issues that arise during mining operations, finding innovative solutions to improve efficiency and safety. 


  • Reporting and Documentation:
    Maintaining accurate records of mining operations, including production data, safety incidents, and equipment maintenance logs. 


  • Team Leadership:
    Mentoring and guiding junior engineers and technicians, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the mining team. 


  • Performance Improvement:
    Identifying areas for improvement in mining operations and implementing strategies to optimize performance and productivity. 


  • Cost Optimization:
    Working to reduce costs and improve efficiency of mining operations
