Job Description – QA Engineer (Medical/Smart Devices)

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented QA Engineer with proven experience in testing medical devices or smart devices. The role involves ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance through comprehensive testing of embedded systems, mobile applications, and device connectivity. The ideal candidate will have strong exposure to software testing methodologies and regulatory standards relevant to healthcare/IoT devices.
Roles & Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for medical/smart devices.
· Conduct manual and automated testing across embedded systems, firmware, mobile applications, and connected devices.
· Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, security, and usability testing.
· Validate device connectivity protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, and IoT platforms.
· Ensure compliance with medical device quality and regulatory standards (ISO 13485, IEC 62304, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
· Participate in Verification & Validation (V&V) activities, risk management, and traceability analysis.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, design, product, regulatory) to resolve issues and deliver high-quality releases.
· Document test results, create detailed defect reports, and track issues using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
· Support process improvement initiatives, test automation adoption, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical, Electronics, or related field.
·
2+ years of experience
as a QA/Test Engineer in medical devices, smart devices, or IoT-based systems.
· Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies.
· Hands-on experience testing embedded systems, firmware, and mobile applications
(iOS/Android).
· Proficiency in bug tracking & test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar).
· Familiarity with automation testing tools (Selenium, Appium, Robot Framework, or equivalent).
· Understanding of regulatory standards & compliance frameworks for medical devices (ISO/FDA/IEC).
· Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
· Experience in API testing using Postman/REST Assured.
· Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
· Exposure to cloud-based device testing (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, or GCP IoT Core).
· Familiarity with cybersecurity testing for medical/smart devices.
- ISTQB Certification or equivalent QA certifications.
