The Role: Lead Developer (Java/AWS)

The Impact

The work you do will be used every single day, it's the essential code you'll write will be used by S&P Global analysts to publish the news and provide equity analysis, research, opinion, and performance data to help clients/investors to make informed and take better decisions.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk
• Should be able to work independently also and guide team members in any technical implementation or architectural challenges.
• Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning
• Develop high-quality design to support key business needs.
• Identify, prioritize and execute tasks in Agile software development environment
• Champion best practices and serve as a subject matter authority
• Produce system design documents and lead technical walkthroughs

What We're Looking For

Education and experience

• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience in application development using AWS & Java based frameworks
• Experience in developing and leading teams building solution with AWS cloud technologies
• Strong Core Java skills including Multithreading, Data Structures
• Strong hands-on experience in enabling a CI/CD pipeline, Terraform, Docker etc
• Command of essential technologies: SpringBoot Microservices, Versioning tools like Git, Gitlab, CICD pipeline
• Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test- driven development.

Good to Have:

• Good to have knowledge of Python programming language
• Good to have knowledge of any Relational or NoSQL database
• Preference will be given to AWS Certified professionals

• Should be able to guide other team members technically
• Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Open minded, flexible, and willing to adapt to changing situations.
• Experience working collaboratively with geographically distributed teams to achieve project plan deliverables and exceed client expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good collaboration skills.
