Job Description Techno Functional Consultant (8-Month Contract)

Work Location: Chennai - Hybrid (Interview to be attended in Inperson - Chennai Office)

Experience Range: 2 to 5 Years

Employment Type: Offroll / Contract (8 Months)

Key Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business users to gather, understand, and analyze requirements.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, BRDs/FSDs, and process documents.
  • Support system enhancements by reviewing and validating functional flows, business logic, and data mappings.
  • Provide functional support during UAT, SIT, integration testing, and production validation.
  • Troubleshoot functional issues and coordinate with technical teams for resolution.
  • Support business process improvements and workflow optimization initiatives.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development/technical teams.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Analyze system architecture, data flows, and integrations across applications.
  • Perform basic system configuration, data validation, and database querying (SQL).
  • Support development teams by explaining functional logic, test cases, and user requirements.
  • Work on minor technical fixes, scripts, or configurations (depending on project needs).
  • Validate system outputs, interfaces, and data transformations.
  • Ensure adherence to technical and functional standards across project deliverables.

Required Skills & Competencies

Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of business processes (any domain such as logistics, supply chain, operations, finance, etc., depending on CMA CGMs project).
  • Experience in business/functional requirement gathering.
  • Ability to create BRD, FSD, User Stories, Use Cases, and process flow diagrams.
  • Experience in supporting UAT and system testing cycles.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with SQL/Database querying.
  • Basic understanding of system integrations, APIs, or middleware (advantage).
  • Knowledge of any ERP, CRM, or enterprise applications (preferred).
  • Ability to work with development teams on data structures, tables, and configurations.

Tools / Technologies (Preferred)

  • SQL
  • Jira / Azure DevOps
  • MS Excel, Power BI (basic understanding is a plus)
  • Postman / API tools (optional)
  • Any ERP/Enterprise system background (SAP, Oracle, TMS, WMS, etc.) is a plus

Behavioral Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid setup
  • Attention to detail and structured approach to documentation
  • Team collaboration and adaptability
  • Ability to work under tight timelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science/IT/Engineering OR related field
  • 2 to 5 years of Techno Functional experience in enterprise systems
  • Experience in logistics or shipping domain is a plus (not mandatory)
