Delivery Manager- MDM

JOB PURPOSE

Our Data and Digital teams support across a range of activities across both data and business analysis. This is completed with the key aim of improving the availability, completeness and quality of data that is used by Sales, Broking, Analytical, Operational and Finance teams.

The Data and Digital teams consist of both Business and Data Analysts, working from an agile backlog that is populated with requests and needs from the teams mentioned above, plus our global product and practice organisation.

Delivery Management drives efficiency in day-to-day task management, ensuring that delivery teams can succeed and are aligned, tasks are prioritised, and delivery workflows are optimised for maximum productivity. A critical role in this capability, the Delivery Manager guides team members through delivery sprints, removing obstacles, ensuring adherence to delivery framework principles and managing issues.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/DELIVERABLES

1. Set-up and establish a delivery framework and build new teams

a) Work with the onshore Data and Digital leadership to build out the existing and high-level delivery model, from requirement identification through to execution and closure

b) Identify and stand-up the necessary governance model, including the required meetings/forums and standard operating processes

c) Implement/configure delivery management technology e.g. ADO, Planview to enable visibility and tracking

d) Help to lead the onboarding of new team members, supporting them with training, understanding the business and ongoing career development

2. Project & Delivery Management

a) Work with the onshore teams to triage and prioritise the requests coming into the teams

b) Break these down into logical delivery projects/activities, scoping the work that needs to be completed and organise in to sprints

c) Help to manage the workload being passed to the Business and Data Analysts, clarifying the tasks and activities and supporting throughout execution

d) Work with counterparts within the GCC on cross-team prioritisation and dependencies, namely with the MI teams

e) Ensure team-wide adoption of development and delivery methodologies including using Azure DevOps for backlog, development task and lifecycle management within a light Agile framework (where applicable).

3. Change Control

a) Align to wider Tech CAB and change control procedures where necessary to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

4. Delivery Risk and Issue Management

a) Proactively identify delivery risks and issues, escalating through appropriate channels (working groups, senior Data and Digital stakeholders).

b) Address, monitor and resolve delivery issues relating to technical roadblocks, resource constraints and other unplanned obstacles.

c) Represent team in wider business and technology settings pertaining to specific issues e.g. security, change control

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Technical knowledge/skills/experience

• Practical experience of using Agile methodologies e.g. Scrum, Kanban etc.

• Experience of standing up new teams and functions

• Experienced with Azure DevOps Boards / other similar technologies (and best practices)

• Understanding of change control

• Understanding of databases/data platform/warehousing

Experience and Skills

• Strong delivery management skills

• High degree of communication agility - can act as a key liaison, meeting facilitator, motivates and builds cohesion

• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple initiatives e.g. across workstreams

• Ability to manage and develop Business and Data Analysts

Eligibility Requirements

• Min. 5 years relevant practical experience in project and/or delivery management in a Data or Digital environment
