Role: To collect first-hand, actionable insights from key stakeholders in order to understand the current market landscape, adoption trends, pricing dynamics, and buyer pain points for this B2B hardware category. The findings will directly shape our go-to-market strategy and investment decisions.

Designation: Primary Researcher

Experience: Upto 8 years

Location: South - Mumbai (Kalaghoda)

Project Timeline: 4 Weeks - Weekly check-ins and progress updates required.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Primary Interviews

  • Conduct 2530 in-depth interviews across 45 target segments, including:

  • Focus areas:

    • Decision-making criteria (price, quality, design, compatibility, service support).

    • Typical procurement cycle (budgets, suppliers, frequency of purchase).

    • Challenges with existing solutions and unmet needs.

    • Perceptions of domestic vs imported products.

    -And other data points.

  • Market Insights

  • Adoption trends in Tier 1 vs Tier 2/3 cities.

  • Key drivers shaping demand (hygiene awareness, design, automation, sustainability).

  • Distribution and sales channels.

  • Product & Pricing Benchmarking

  • Capture data for at least 1520 hardware SKUs (popular in India).

  • Map price points, product features, and segment positioning.

  • Identify value-added features customers are willing to pay for.

  • Synthesis & Recommendations

  • Convert interview findings into clear insights with supporting data.

  • Highlight gaps in the current market and potential entry opportunities.

  • Provide a recommendation summary (short-term, medium-term, long-term view).

Desired Skills :

  • Strong experience in primary market research in India.
  • Proven ability to interview procurement decision-makers and distributors.
  • Background in FMCG, hygiene, or hardware categories is a plus.
  • Skilled at converting qualitative feedback into structured, data-backed insights.
  • Independent, resourceful, and able to deliver within timelines.
