    is looking for an Editor for its India office in New Delhi. The editor will report to the Chief Editor and work closely with and supervise staff writers, Interns and free-lancers.

  • The Editor must have a good knowledge of online media, technical know-how to handle online contents on the portal. Excellent communication skills in English are a pre-requisite.
  • We are looking for an individual who is enterprising in nature, has ideas how to make this a successful model, and is committed to highest standards of ethical journalism.The prospective candidate should be one who can help writers find their voice, as well as work with NewsGram leadership to further the newsportal's identity. If hired, you must be able to work effectively with writers to conceive original, distinctive stories that will have impact and resonate with a broad array of readers. You must have strong line editing skills, as well the ability to rewrite a story. Your team must be able to produce reported narratives and profiles, as well as more traditional news pieces. In addition, you should able to recruit talented free-lance writers to contribute pieces to NewsGram. They must be committed to careful and accurate writing and reporting.

  • The editor will have to maintain the existing internship program for trainee journalism students and mentor them.

  • Your typical day:

  • Conceiving, assigning, editing features and stories, while pitching in with daily coverage as needed.
  • Working closely with Chief Editor of NewsGram and staff writers, reporters and interns to develop deeply reported narratives and profiles that will have broad reader appeal and impact.
  • Identifying and working with outside freelance writers who can contribute to NewsGram.

  • Leveraging Social Media tools to develop more engaging ways to tell stories.
