A mold designer's job is to create and refine molds for manufacturing processes, ensuring that they are precise and efficient. Their responsibilities include: 

• Designing: Creating detailed designs for molds, including 3D modeling, drawings, and documentation 
   
  
• Collaborating: Working with tool makers to ensure accurate manufacturing 
   
  
• Quality checking: Conducting quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet industry standards 
   
  
• Troubleshooting: Resolving issues related to mold design, tool maintenance, and plastic injection molding 
   
  
• Training: Training and learning under senior designers to understand the mold design process 
   
  
• Managing issues: Managing design-related issues throughout the build process 
   
  
• Preparing prints: Preparing prints for all components with the correct dimensions and distributing them to the appropriate department for manufacturing 
   
  
• Preparing specifications: Preparing mold specifications and checklists 
   
  
• Preparing drawings: Preparing mold component drawings and assembly drawings 
   
  
• Assisting: Assisting with product and tool development and the molding process 
   
  
• Ensuring transition: Ensuring a smooth transition from design to development, testing, and production trial runs 
   
  
• Checking programs: Checking that programs and tooling are correct
