Clinical & Technical Duties

  • Assist cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as:

    • Coronary angiography

    • PTCA / PCI

    • Pacemaker and ICD implantation

    • Cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures

  • Prepare and position patients for procedures while ensuring comfort and safety

  • Operate and monitor hemodynamic systems, imaging equipment, and monitoring devices

  • Maintain sterile field and follow infection control protocols

  • Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions

  • Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic parameters during procedures

  • Assist in emergency situations such as cardiac arrest or complications

Equipment & Inventory Management

  • Ensure proper functioning, calibration, and maintenance of Cath Lab equipment

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with biomedical engineering

  • Manage Cath Lab inventory, including catheters, wires, stents, and medications

  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior Cath Lab technicians

  • Assign duties and ensure adequate staffing for procedures

  • Participate in performance evaluations and competency assessments

  • Promote teamwork and effective communication within the Cath Lab

Documentation & Compliance

  • Accurately document procedures, patient data, and equipment usage

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH/JCI (or local regulatory) standards

  • Participate in audits, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
