Job Role :
As a Quality Inspector you are responsible for the quality of all diagnosis and repairs carried out on vehicles. You accompany Service Advisor in understanding critical product problems and diagnose the problem with the help of diagnostic tools and road tests. You ensure that all customer concerns, requirements are well processed and well addressed as per standards and ensure service quality by performing final inspection of every vehicle after completion of necessary work.
You are key person in identification of root cause of repeat repairs and implement suitable countermeasures with Job Controller to improve service quality and consequently the 'Customer Satisfaction'.
Requirements
Your key responsibilities are:
- Checking the concerns reported by customer.
- Ensuring that the proper Diagnosis is carried out by referring STAR reports, TIPS documents etc.
- Inspection and confirmation of all Repair work carried out by technicians.
- Referring WIS documents, EPC for correct part numbers, defective components.
- Checking of the workshop order for diagnosis/repair sequence details, technician's name, signature and time recording.
- Repairs of defects other than customer complaints.
- Inspection of the vehicle during vehicle reception and vehicle handover as per the points mentioned for final control in the workshop order.
- Road testing of the vehicle (has to confirm after repair status of customer complaints, normal performance of the vehicle, brakes, abnormal noise, and other defects as per his experience)
- Proper vehicle interior and exterior cleaning.
- Checking of the instrument cluster for proper setting (clock, language etc.).
- Confirmation of repair by inspection of vehicle for proper fitment, leakages etc.
- Perform functional checks if necessary in a test drive.
- Document the results of the functional check on the workshop order.
- Specify defect detected and document these appropriately.
- Define the further procedure in case of defects detected and immediately coordinate with colleagues in service reception.
- Identify possible causes for defects found and analyse the root cause and prepare the action plan for the same.
Skills Technical Competence
- You possess good general maintenance & system knowledge.
- You are familiar with the operation of all the current vehicle systems and functions which you can explain in detail to others, if needed.
- You have a good command of all the maintenance, test, and adjustment operations or rapidly become familiarised with these.
- You can recognize and identify any discrepancies in the diagnoses and repair works done on the vehicle and can suggest further measures.
- You hold a clean and valid driving license. Method and process competence
- You have a thorough knowledge of the Mercedes-Benz workshop processes, products and services.
- You follow the functional, visual and fluid level check points in final inspection process.
- You complete the technical documentation and record the findings in work order for necessary submission to the Job Controller.
- You analyse the root cause of repeat repairs and suggest countermeasures in your daily report to Job Controller for necessary implementation. Social and interpersonal competence
