Job Purpose:

To manage and grow strategic key accounts by providing tailored freight forwarding solutions, maintaining high service levels, ensuring timely payment collection, and driving profitable growth. The KAM acts as the primary point of contact for key clients, focusing on retention, satisfaction, and business expansion across logistics verticals (Air, Sea, Road Customs, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, fully understanding their logistics needs and expectations.
  • Pricing Negotiation and RFQ filling
  • Serve as the main interface between clients and internal departments (operations, customs, pricing, finance, etc.).
  • Conduct regular client reviews to track service performance and identify new opportunities.

Business Development:

  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities in freight, warehousing, customs, and other value-added services.
  • Coordinate with pricing teams to prepare tailored proposals while ensuring profitability.
  • Map trade lanes and customer buying patterns to offer optimized shipping solutions.

Customer Service & Operations Coordination:

  • Monitor end-to-end shipment execution and proactively address any service disruptions.
  • Track operational KPIs (On-time delivery, documentation, TAT) and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage and resolve client escalations effectively.

Payment Collection & Credit Control:

  • Follow up regularly with clients to ensure timely payment collection as per agreed credit terms.
  • Coordinate with the finance team to track outstanding receivables and resolve invoicing disputes.
  • Support credit control by maintaining healthy DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and reducing overdue payments.
  • Escalate high-risk or aging receivables to management for timely resolution.

Market Intelligence & Reporting:

  • Track competitor activities, customer developments, and market trends.
  • Provide accurate forecasting, revenue reporting, and account updates to leadership.
  • Maintain all client data and activity logs in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue and gross profit growth from managed accounts
  • Customer retention and satisfaction (NPS/CSAT)
  • New business from existing clients
  • Timely collection of receivables and DSO targets
  • CRM usage and reporting compliance
  • On-time and error-free service execution
