Veeresha Castings Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead and manage all machining operations, ensuring productivity, quality, cost control, and timely delivery. The role requires strong leadership, deep machining knowledge, and hands-on experience in managing CNC and conventional machining shops within a foundry or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day machine shop operations to meet production targets
  • Oversee CNC and conventional machining processes including turning, milling, drilling, boring, and grinding
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, process controls, and customer specifications
  • Coordinate with Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Foundry teams
  • Optimize machining processes to improve productivity, reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework
  • Manage tooling, fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools; ensure proper selection and life monitoring
  • Lead manpower planning, shift management, training, and performance evaluation
  • Ensure machine maintenance schedules, breakdown reduction, and high equipment availability
  • Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor production costs, consumables, and budgets; drive cost-reduction initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and company policies
  • Support new product development, process trials, and PPAP activities as required

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machines, VMC, HMC, and conventional machining
  • Hands-on experience in machining of castings (CI, SG Iron, steel, or alloy castings preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with focus on continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with ERP/MIS systems and production reporting
  • Exposure to ISO/TS/IATF quality systems is an advantage

Experience Requirement

  • Minimum 1015 years of experience in machine shop operations
  • At least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role in a manufacturing or foundry-based organization
