Job Description

Blood Bank Technician is responsible for collecting, testing, labeling, and storing blood and its components for transfusion and medical use. They ensure the safety and quality of blood samples through precise laboratory procedures and strict adherence to health regulations. Working closely with doctors and medical technologists, they maintain accurate donor and inventory records while ensuring compliance with ethical and safety standards in transfusion services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process blood samples following strict medical protocols.
  • Perform blood grouping, crossmatching, and compatibility testing accurately.
  • Maintain proper storage conditions for blood and components.
  • Record and manage donor information using computerized systems efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and ethical standards daily.
  • Assist physicians and nurses during blood transfusion procedures carefully.
  • Calibrate and maintain blood bank equipment regularly for accuracy.
  • Prepare and label blood units precisely for clinical distribution.
Skill & Experience
  • Strong knowledge of hematology and transfusion medicine procedures.
