Post-Doctoral Fellow – IIM Bangalore Center of Excellence for Digital Public Goods

Purpose

IIM Bangalore's Center of Excellence for Digital Public Goods (CDPG) is seeking a highly motivated and talented Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our team. The Center of Excellence for Digital Public Goods at IIM Bangalore is a leading institution dedicated to studying and advancing digital public infrastructure (DPI) and digital public goods (DPG) initiatives. Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Conduct research: Conduct independent and collaborative research on digital public goods, with a focus on building an inclusive and open data repository, and documenting success stories of DPI and DPG initiatives leading to a one-of-its-kind knowledge repository.
• Data analysis and interpretation: Collect, analyse, and interpret data related to digital public goods, utilizing appropriate research methodologies and statistical techniques. Generate insights and recommendations based on research findings.
• Project development: Contribute to the development of research projects and proposals that align with the center's objectives, including in evangelizing and documenting international and national replications of DPI and DPGs in other contexts.
• Partnerships and fund raising: Assist in securing funding for research initiatives and establishing partnerships with relevant stakeholders.
• Publication and dissemination: Prepare research papers, reports, and other publications for dissemination in reputable academic journals, conferences, and policy forums. Contribute to the center's data repository, knowledge repository, and experience repository through collaborative documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborative engagement: Collaborate with researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and industry experts to foster interdisciplinary research collaborations and contribute to the overall intellectual environment of the center.
• Mentorship and guidance: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior researchers, research assistants, and students working on projects related to digital public goods. Foster a supportive and collaborative research culture within the center.

Qualification and Personal Profile

• A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant field such as management, information systems, public policy, economics, or a related discipline.
• Strong research background with a focus on digital technologies, open-source software, data governance, or related areas.
• Demonstrated expertise in research methodologies, data analysis, and statistical techniques, and/ or qualitative research methods.
• Track record of publishing research papers in reputable academic journals and conference presentations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate research findings and engage in collaborative discussions.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
• preferred.

Key Skill and Ability Requirements

• Knowledge of, and experience in working with emerging technologies, digital innovation, and the concept of digital public goods.
• Prior experience in securing research funding, managing research projects, or engaging with stakeholders will be an advantage.
