Position Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Python Developer experienced in building and scaling APIdriven

backend systems using FastAPI and SQLAlchemy. The role involves designing, developing,

and optimizing backend services that power enterprise-grade logistics and distribution workflows

in a containerized cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using FastAPI with clear routing and documentation.
  • Design efficient data models and repositories with SQLAlchemy and MySQL.
  • Implement secure authentication/authorization (JWT, RBAC).
  • Integrate with external and legacy systems using ODBC connectors.
  • Build real-time WebSocket endpoints for telemetry and live events.
  • Ensure high scalability, reliability, and observability in Docker/Kubernetes environments.
  • Conduct testing, code reviews, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Operations teams..

Desired Skill Set

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years in backend development using Python 3.x, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy (v2).
  • Strong SQL and MySQL expertise (schema design, query tuning).
  • Experience with JWT-based authentication and role-based access control.
  • Working knowledge of ODBC, WebSockets, and Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and exposure to Kubernetes or OpenShift.
  • Proficiency with pytest, debugging, and performance profiling..

Good to have skills:

  • Familiarity with Redis, Kafka, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Argo CD).
  • Understanding of security best practices (OWASP, CORS, SQL injection prevention).
