Position: Snowflake Administration (MT415FT RM 3697)

Key Responsibilities

Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable database systems to support mission critical applications and analytics.

Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance, troubleshooting slow queries, deadlocks, and other inefficiencies.

Data Security: Implement and maintain robust security policies, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with industry standards.

Backup and Recovery: Develop and execute comprehensive backup/recovery and disaster recovery strategies.

Collaboration: Partner with data engineers, data scientists, and application developers to support data driven initiatives and optimize database performance and meet business needs.

Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline database processes and implement automation tools for monitoring, deployment, and maintenance.

Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for database architectures, processes, and configurations to support operational efficiency and knowledge sharing.

Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on database technologies and industry trends to recommend new tools and approaches that align with 84.51°‿s goals.

Database Support: Provide tier 3 support for database issues and collaborate with developers to debug and resolve issues. Perform database maintenance, patching, upgrades.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

Mandatory: 2+ years of experience in Snowflake DB Administration (preferably Azure).

Proficiency in database scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PL/pgSQL, T SQL).

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and database as a service solutions.

Solid understanding of database architecture, indexing strategies, partitioning, and query optimization.

Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards, including GDPR and CCPA.

Strong problem solving skills and ability to work in a fast paced, diverse, and collaborative environment.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data warehouse solutions (e.g., Snowflake, or Databricks).

Knowledge of tools like Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure automation.

Certifications in database administration or cloud services (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, SnowPro Administrator).
