Position Summary:

At AFI, we are looking for a fund-raising specialist with relevant experience to lead efforts in securing corporate sponsorships, CSR funding, and High Net-Worth Individual (HNI) donations. This role is pivotal in expanding our philanthropic impact across India by building strategic partnerships and mobilizing resources for our key initiatives.

The position is a senior level position at ASME to help coordinate the organization's efforts to mobilize institutional and program funds to help meet ASME's program goals and institutional priorities. This involves building partnerships, support and strategic engagement with grant giving foundations/institutions, private foundations, government agencies and HNIs, select corporates and retail fund raising fund raising as well as sponsorship/partnership management.

• The incumbent will be part of a small team but will work in close coordination with various ASME program units, and with the senior management. The position is based at the ASME office in Delhi NCR but will involve frequent travel all over the country.

Role & responsibilities

1. Corporate & CSR Fundraising

• Identify, cultivate, and secure CSR partnerships with Indian and multinational corporations aligned with our mission.
• Develop compelling funding proposals, pitch decks, and impact narratives tailored to corporate CSR mandates.
• Build long-term relationships with CSR heads, sustainability officers, and corporate foundations.

2. HNI & Philanthropic Engagement

• Strategically engage HNI donors, family offices, and philanthropic networks.
• Organize donor events, briefings, and personalized outreach to showcase impact and build trust.
• Maintain donor stewardship through regular updates, recognition, and engagement.

3. Strategy & Execution

• Design and implement a fundraising strategy with clear targets, timelines, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with program teams to align fundraising with project needs and impact goals.
• Track fundraising performance, donor pipelines, and reporting metrics.

4. Communication & Storytelling

Work with marketing and communications teams to improve donor visibility and campaign reach.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Post Graduate qualifications in Communication / Management / Marketing / Development Studies / Social Sciences or related field
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, preferably directly in fundraising or business development
• Proven track record of fund raising, with a strong understanding of the latest fund-raising trends in the country – CSR, HNIs, private foundations, retail fundraising strategy
• Experience of developing Proposals and presenting the same to Corporates, Donors and Funders, with relative success.
• Creative and strategic thinker, with project management skills and the ability to meticulously operationalize fund raising plans
• Capable of representing and presenting organization capabilities to external stakeholders
• Strong communications skills including presentation, proposal writing, preferably with the understanding of results-based frameworks
• Exposure to the non-profit or development sector particularly on environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• The minimum qualification and/or experience requirements may be relaxed in the case of candidates with outstanding credentials.
• Competent in working under pressure for deadlines with excellent accuracy.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with all stakeholders of the organization.
• Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
• Outstanding research skills.
• Ability to Craft persuasive narratives that highlight the social impact of engineering innovations, women empowerment, and sustainable development.
