Job Title: Solar Design Engineer (Rooftop & Ground-Mount Projects)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Solar PV Designer with 4- 6 years

of hands-on experience in both rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV projects. The

ideal candidate should have strong technical skills in system design, a solid

understanding of industry best practices, and prociency in tools like PVsyst and

AutoCAD. A curious mindset and eagerness to stay updated with emerging technologies

and standards is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals and design solar PV systems (on-grid, off-grid, utility-scale)
  • Develop AC/DC SLDs, perform cable sizing/scheduling, and support BOS

    selection, Aux Transformer sizing.
  • Create detailed engineering documents and drawings.
  • Support tendering, estimation, and technical sales eorts.
  • Collaborate with site teams, EPCs, and clients for timely project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, and IS standards.
  • Use software like AutoCAD, PVsyst (preferred).
  • Design experience with solar projects from 1 MW to 100 MW.
  • Interpret site survey data, perform shading analysis, and provide optimized

    design solutions.
  • Review contractor/ vendor drawings and technical submittals.

    Required Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years of electrical experience in the solar PV sector (rooftop & ground-mount).
  • Prepare detailed PVsyst simulation reports for internal review, client

    presentation.
  • Solid understanding of electrical layouts, SLD, cable routing, conduit &

    trenching, Transformer sizing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Prepare as-built drawings and design documentation for handover.

    Added Advantage
  • Civil engineering knowledge (foundations, grading, drainage).
  • Mechanical insight into mounting structures and tracker systems.
  • Experience with GIS platforms.
  • Experience on European solar projects and familiarity with local permitting

    processes.
  • Basic use of Electrical softwares like ETAP, SKM or Digsilent Powerfactory.
  • Assist in preparing planning/permitting documentation (site plans,

    interconnection schematics, access routes).
  • Understanding of Battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hybrid systems.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, remote monitoring, and O&M metrics.
  • Knowledge of Substation designing.
